Softball Recap: Cairo Comes Up Short

Cairo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Miller County Pirates. The Syrupmakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Cairo's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Miller County, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Cairo and Miller County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Syrupmakers are set to challenge their familiar foe Westover at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Miller County will take on rival Seminole County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
