Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Jaguars vs. Wheeler Wildcats

The Jackson Jaguars will take on the Wheeler Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jackson has 14 straight wins, Wheeler has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Jackson's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Pace Academy.

The result came thanks to Marcus Blash's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Seth Geter was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Maceo White, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Jackson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Wheeler came up short against Marietta on Friday, falling 16-1.

Jackson pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Wheeler, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20.

Wheeler's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jackson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .481. It's a different story for Wheeler, though, as they've only averaged .303.
