Basketball Recap: Rio Lindo Adventist Takes a Loss

Rio Lindo Adventist was the 33-28 winner over South Fork when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans took a 26-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Fork Cubs. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Rio Lindo Adventist saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maddy Gibson posted two points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards set a new season-high mark for Gibson. Cyara Guarin was another key player, putting up seven points.

Rio Lindo Adventist's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for South Fork, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Rio Lindo Adventist will take on Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Fork, they will take on Willits in a tournament on December 19th.
