Volleyball Recap: Lovelady Comes Up Short

Lovelady was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Normangee Panthers. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Lovelady may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 21 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-21.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Normangee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gracin Shaffer, who had 17 digs. Shaffer has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Bush, who had 14 digs.

Lovelady's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Normangee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-22.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lovelady is set to face off against their familiar foe Centerville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Normangee will take on rival Leon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
