Softball Recap: Mason City Comes Up Short

Mason City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks, falling 9-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Go-Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 back in May.

Mason City's loss dropped their record down to 9-24. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Mason City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Fort Dodge on the 12th.
