Basketball Recap: GRACE Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. GRACE Christian fell 68-60 to Fayetteville Academy. GRACE Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fayetteville Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Despite the loss, GRACE Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gradyn West shot 53% from the field en route to 20 points and six rebounds. West continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Alister Murray also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

It was another big night for Justin Caldwell, who almost dropped a double-double with 30 points and nine boards for Fayetteville Academy. Caldwell's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 23 points. Another player making a difference was Aziz Al-Jurhanni, who posted 14 points and five assists.

GRACE Christian now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Fayetteville Academy, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, GRACE Christian will challenge Kid Stars Rising Christian Learning Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fayetteville Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cresset Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
