Softball Recap: The Classical Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Canon City

The Classical Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Canon City Tigers. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ada Wilson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carina Passarelli, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Taytum Kimbro, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

The Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canon City only posted a batting average of .080.

The Classical Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Canon City: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
