Baseball Recap: Wickliffe Has No Trouble Against Harvey

Wickliffe came out on top against Harvey on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Blue Devils blew past the Red Raiders 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Frankie Bucar was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Wickliffe is 4-2 when Bucar posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Shawn Aheimer, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wickliffe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Wickliffe's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Harvey, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-15.

Looking ahead, Wickliffe will face off against Beachwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Harvey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
