Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Butte Valley). They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Etna Lions on Tuesday. It was an even better day for Mario Gonzalez as he scored five goals for his team.

The win was the third in a row for Butte Valley, bringing their record up to 5-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Etna, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Butte Valley has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Tulelake on the 16th. As for Etna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 9-1 defeat against Trinity on the 15th.
