After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sun Valley Magnet, Lake Balboa College Prep was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They slipped by the Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology Griffins 27-26. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Griffins back in January, they had to take a 53-19 loss.

Celine Assio continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 19 points and six steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marisela Rodriguez Rivera, who posted four points and 19 boards.

Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heidi Lombera, who earned nine points. That was a full 34.6% of Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Emily Barajas was another key player, posting nine points.

Lake Balboa College Prep pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Valor Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 27.1% over those games). As for Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
