Baseball Game Preview: Beaverton Beavers vs. Sunset Apollos

For the second straight game, Beaverton will face off against Sunset. The Beavers will face off against the Apollos at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beaverton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Sunset's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Beaverton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Sunset just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Apollos, falling 8-2. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

For Sunset's part, Riley Via spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. Via has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Koen Hall was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Marcus Pollard, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Sunset's win bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Beaverton, their loss dropped their record down to 20-7.
