Softball Recap: Sigourney Comes Up Short

If Sigourney was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of English Valleys on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Savages fell just short of the B-G-M Bears by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Savages were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Sigourney's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 11-6. As for B-G-M, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Sigourney didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Belle Plaine on the 20th. As for B-G-M, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Iowa Valley on the 20th.
