Football Recap: Veterans Memorial Chargers vs. Los Fresnos Falcons
Veterans Memorial's last matchup with Los Fresnos could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Chargers lost 30-7 to the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, the Chargers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jake Saenz threw for 78 yards on five of 12 attempts. Andrew Quintero was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards. On the ground, Cesar Belmontes rushed for 60 yards.
Robert Pineda was his usual excellent self, rushing for 138 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries for Los Fresnos. Pineda is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Los Fresnos, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
