Volleyball Recap: Alleghany Takes a Loss

Alleghany lost against Ashe County back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Huskies, falling 3-0. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Alleghany ultimately came up short, they really made Ashe County work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-16, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Alleghany lost, don't look at Lilly Carrillo. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs, five aces, and one block. Carrillo is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Alleghany's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ashe County, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Alleghany has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Starmount on the 28th. As for Ashe County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Watauga on the 27th.
