Basketball Recap: Woodrow Wilson Comes Up Short

Woodrow Wilson played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits, falling 53-15. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.

Long Beach Poly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joy Anderson out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Lemons, who posted six points and nine steals.

Woodrow Wilson now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Long Beach Poly, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Woodrow Wilson will head out on the road to challenge Lakewood at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Long Beach Poly, they will welcome Compton at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Long Beach Poly has three straight victories, Compton has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
