Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist Saints vs. Prestonwood Christian North

First Baptist is 3-0 against Prestonwood Christian North since December of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The First Baptist Saints will host Prestonwood Christian North at 7:30 p.m. First Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Prestonwood Christian North likes a good challenge.

First Baptist is returning to their home court after beating Ovilla Christian on theirs, despite the fact Ovilla Christian has dominated at home this season. First Baptist really took it to Ovilla Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 92-65 win. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead First Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Jones, who went 9 of 17 from beyond the arc on his way to 45 points. Those 45 points gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Stamps, who went 10 for 22 en route to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Prestonwood Christian North came up short against Garland Christian Academy on Tuesday and fell 53-46.

First Baptist's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Prestonwood Christian North, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

First Baptist barely slipped by Prestonwood Christian North in their previous meeting back in January, winning 68-67. Will First Baptist repeat their success, or does Prestonwood Christian North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
