Baseball Recap: Redan's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Redan came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Norcross Blue Devils 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Redan got a massive performance out of Matthew Evans, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-5. Evans is becoming a predictor of Redan's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Tobias Bell, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Evans wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Redan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for Redan: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.6.

Redan's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Norcross, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Redan will venture away from home to take on Newnan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norcross, they will host Meadowcreek at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norcross is facing Meadowcreek at the right time seeing as Meadowcreek is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
