Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cairo-Durham walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Hoosick Falls Panthers on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won six games in a row.

Nico Martines and Jake Young did most of the damage at the plate: Martines got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Young went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Anthony Roeber was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Cairo-Durham's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Hoosick Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

As of now, neither Cairo-Durham nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
