Mingus' loss came despite strong showings from Savannah Tobias and Riana Barre. Tobias had 12 points along with seven steals, while Barre earned no points plus seven rebounds and four steals.
The win made it two in a row for Higley and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Mingus, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Higley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-29 victory against Thunderbird on the 25th. Mingus has also already played their next game, a 69-26 win against Mountain Ridge on the 25th.
