Soccer Game Preview: Evergreen vs. Maumee

The Evergreen Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Maumee Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evergreen's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Evergreen is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Delta on Thursday. The Vikings fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Maumee kept a clean sheet against Oak Harbor on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Rockets. The result was nothing new for Maumee, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Evergreen's loss dropped their record down to 2-10-3. As for Maumee, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season.

Evergreen might still be hurting after the 6-2 defeat they got from Maumee in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
