Softball Game Preview: Clear Creek-Amana Clippers vs. Marion Wolves

The Clear Creek-Amana Clippers will head out to square off against the Marion Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Clear Creek-Amana's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Marion's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Clear Creek-Amana can't be too worried about heading out to take on Marion: they just beat Clarksville at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Clippers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Indians on Saturday. The Clippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Iowa City, falling 12-0.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Clear Creek-Amana, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Clear Creek-Amana beat Marion 10-7 when the teams last played back in June of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
