Football Recap: Ludlowe Takes Down Ranked Staples

Ludlowe faced Staples in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Falcons walked away with a 28-21 win over the Wreckers. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was another big night for Liam Bond, who rushed for 52 yards and four TDs, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024. Ryan Love was another key player, throwing for 251 yards while completing 79.4% of his passes.

Ludlowe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bond and Timmy O'Neill.

Ludlowe's record is now 6-3. As for Staples, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4.

Ludlowe and Staples will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Falcons see the field they'll take on Warde at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Staples, their break will end when they face Greenwich at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
