Clear Lake barely beat Humboldt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with  an   8-0  win  on Tuesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by eight  runs or more this season.
Clear Lake's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-8. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Humboldt, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record  this season.
 Clear Lake will be playing at home against Algona  at 7:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8  runs per game  this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Humboldt has  already played their next  contest (against Pocahontas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
