Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Notre Dame played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 67-41 to the Priory Panthers. The Regents have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Priory to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiana Tuigamala, who made all 5 shots she took for 10 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Tuigamala a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelaide Chan, who posted eight points.

Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Priory, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Notre Dame and Priory should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Notre Dame will take on KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 1,050 places (154 vs. 1204). Similarly, Priory (ranked 18th) will meet University (ranked 135th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
