Recap: Wyoming East Warriors vs. Mingo Central Miners
Make it eight blowout wins for the Wyoming East Warriors this season. Everything went their way against Mingo Central on Tuesday as Wyoming East made off with a 61-40 win. The victory was nothing new for Wyoming East as they're now sitting on six straight.
It was another big night for Cadence Blackburn, who scored 37 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Maddie Clark was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 assists and six rebounds.
Addie Smith and Gianna Akers certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Smith scored 20 points along with six assists, while Akers scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. That was a full 50% of Mingo Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wyoming East's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Mingo Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season.
Wyoming East will head out on the road to challenge Mingo Central on Monday. As for Mingo Central, they will be playing at home against Tolsia at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
