Basketball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Takes a Loss

Claysburg-Kimmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southern Fulton Indians. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 44-42 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Claysburg-Kimmel still got an impressive performance from Bailey Tipton, who posted 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Tipton a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Bella Francona, who scored nine points and five boards.

Southern Fulton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Claire Harvey out in front who went 8 for 15 on her way to 22 points. Harvey is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sosefina Ah Loe, who had eight points and 18 rebounds.

Claysburg-Kimmel's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Southern Fulton, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Claysburg-Kimmel will face off against Fannett Metal at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Southern Fulton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forbes Road at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
