Volleyball Recap: Penns Manor Takes a Loss

Penns Manor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Penns Manor was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 26-24.

Madison Mccleester had a dynamite game For Conemaugh Valley., getting 16 digs and four aces. Mccleester has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Penns Manor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Conemaugh Valley, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Penns Manor will take on rival Portage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Conemaugh Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Homer-Center at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
