After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Point Loma, the University City Centurions were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They snuck past Patrick Henry with a 41-37 win. Perhaps the best among them was Kimora Nears, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nears has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Perry, who scored nine points along with three steals.
University City's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Patrick Henry, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
University City will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Marauders at 6:00 p.m. Mira Mesa will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Patrick Henry, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cavers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully San Diego focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Friday.
