Soccer Recap: Rio Mesa Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Rio Mesa was not quite Santa Barbara's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Santa Barbara Dons by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by just one goal.

This is the second loss in a row for Rio Mesa and nudges their season record down to 2-13-5. As for Santa Barbara, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10-3.

Rio Mesa will venture away from home to face off against Ventura at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Mesa's last eight matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Santa Barbara, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against San Marcos.
