Soccer Game Preview: Lakeside vs. Moreno Valley

The Lakeside Lancers will take on the Moreno Valley Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lakeside's offense. They fell just short of Perris by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The shutout was out of character for the Lancers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Moreno Valley was forced to settle for a draw. They and Rancho Christian finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Moreno Valley's goal came courtesy of Samantha Lopez, who's now up to eight this season.

With that draw, Moreno Valley's record moves to 6-9-1. As for Lakeside, they now have a losing record at 4-5-2.

Lakeside skirted past Moreno Valley 2-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeside since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
