Basketball Recap: La Quinta Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

La Quinta had won three straight home games and Katie Nguyen did her part to make it four on Monday. The La Quinta Aztecs snuck past the Garden Grove Argonauts with a 42-38 victory thanks in part to Nguyen, who posted 15 points and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

Another player making a difference was Katelyn Vo, who had four points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

La Quinta is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Garden Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Quinta will head out to take on Santiago at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Quinta is facing Santiago at the right time seeing as Santiago is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Garden Grove, they will head out on the road to challenge Tesoro at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
