Football Recap: Sunset Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sunset's offense. They had to suffer through a 69-0 loss at the hands of the Newman Smith Trojans. The loss continues a trend for the Bison in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost six in a row.

Newman Smith's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gianfranco Fuentes, who rushed for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Those 94 rushing yards gave Fuentes a new career-high. Zion Williams was in the mix too, providing Newman Smith with two TDs.

Sunset's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Newman Smith, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coincidentally, Sunset and Newman Smith will both be playing Molina the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th, while the Bison will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on October 4.
