Softball Game Preview: Van Meter Bulldogs vs. West Marshall Trojans

The Van Meter Bulldogs will head out to take on the West Marshall Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Van Meter is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

On Tuesday, Van Meter made easy work of Pleasantville and carried off a 9-1 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, West Marshall got themselves on the board against Saydel on Tuesday, but Saydel never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Eagles. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three games in a row.

West Marshall pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Van Meter, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
