Baseball Game Preview: Shepard Astros vs. Lemont Lemont HS

Shepard is 1-8 against Lemont since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Astros will welcome the Lemont HS at 4:30 p.m.

Shepard fell victim to Oak Lawn and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Spartans. The Astros have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Lemont and Bremen had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lemont HS were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Braves on Tuesday. Considering the Lemont HS have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lemont pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Shepard, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-2.
