Soccer Game Preview: Duluth vs. North Gwinnett

The Duluth Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the North Gwinnett Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Duluth's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Duluth challenged Parkview on Tuesday. Duluth skirted past Parkview 1-0. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, North Gwinnett was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to Norcross. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost three in a row.

North Gwinnett's goal came courtesy of Daris MUSTIC, who's now up to six this season.

Duluth has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six matches. North Gwinnett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Duluth skirted past North Gwinnett 3-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Duluth repeat their success, or does North Gwinnett have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
