Football Recap: Longview Skates Past Rowlett with Ease

With a playoff win on the line, Longview rose to the challenge on Friday. They really took it to the Rowlett Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-7 win. The Lobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

MASON WASHINGTON produced another solid performance rushing for 285 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run. JADEN HURNDON did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 74 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Longview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 396 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Longview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of JAMES PIERCE and JASSIAH HILL. HILL also made four total tackles, which is notable because Longview is 6-2 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise. Another thorn in Rowlett's side was BRADLEY WILLIAMS, who forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Longview is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Rowlett, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Longview will face off against DeSoto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lobos will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. Rowlett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
