Recap: Penns Valley Area Rams vs. Clearfield Bison
After a string of four wins, the Penns Valley Area Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Clearfield 64-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Penns Valley Area saw an underclassman step up: Lilly Smith scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Ellie Romig was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clearfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayleigh Walker, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Walker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Glunt, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds.
Penns Valley Area's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Clearfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penns Valley Area will take on Richland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Richland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Monday. As for Clearfield, they will be playing at home against Bedford at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bedford is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
