After a string of ten wins, Cherokee Bluff's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Oconee County Warriors by a score of 9-8. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Bubba Coleman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Bruns, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cherokee Bluff's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 14-9. As for Oconee County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oconee County beat Cherokee Bluff by a score of 4-3 later that day.
