Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for CORE Butte

CORE Butte had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chester Volcanoes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-10, 25-10.

Leading CORE Butte to victory were Allison Freimuth and Mara Gonzalez. Freimuth had 16 assists and four digs, while Gonzalez had seven digs and two aces. Freimuth is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: CORE Butte was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matches.

CORE Butte's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Coming up, CORE Butte will head out to take on Redding Christian at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Chester, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Westwood on the 15th.
