Softball Recap: Southern/Diller-Odell vs. Fairbury Jeffs
Southern/Diller-Odell blew Fairbury out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Fairbury got their revenge. Southern/Diller-Odell fell just short of Fairbury by a score of 7-5. Southern/Diller-Odell just can't catch a break and has now endured eight defeats in a row.
Reegan Lauby was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Azlynn Stevens and Maddie Rosebaugh stepped up to the plate in a big way.
