Basketball Recap: Milla Hansen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Las Lomas over Head-Royce

Las Lomas and Head-Royce squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Las Lomas had to settle for second. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Head-Royce Jayhawks. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jayhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Las Lomas' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Milla Hansen, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Hansen a new career-high in blocks (two). Kimiko Hirahara was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Las Lomas' defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Head-Royce, their win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Las Lomas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Head-Royce, they will be playing at home against Sonoma Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sonoma Academy's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Head-Royce's offense will have their work cut out for them.
