It was fun while it lasted, but Union Area's undefeated season came to an end after 25 games on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 49-33 to the Williamsburg Blue Pirates. The matchup marked the Scotties' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Williamsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leeanna Royer led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Royer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Levada Gorsuch, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Union Area fell to 25-1. As for Williamsburg, their record is now 21-6.

Union Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamsburg, they will face off against Otto-Eldred on Wednesday. Williamsburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
