Basketball Game Preview: Wyoming Area Warriors vs. Riverside Vikings

Wyoming Area is 1-6 against Riverside since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Riverside took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wyoming Area, who comes in off a win.

Wyoming Area was handed a 42-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 win over Montrose. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since December 28, 2024.

Wyoming Area's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jailynn Park, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Park a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Londyn Sobeck, who posted nine points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Riverside was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 23-19 to Holy Redeemer. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Royals 8-3 in the first quarter.

Wyoming Area lost to Riverside on the road by a decisive 40-25 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
