Softball Game Preview: Lanier Longhorns vs. Chattahoochee Cougars

The Lanier Longhorns will venture away from home to take on the Chattahoochee Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lanier managed to slip by Peachtree Ridge the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Longhorns came up short against the Lions on Wednesday, falling 12-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Longhorns were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Chattahoochee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to Johns Creek.

Camden Maye was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Lanier's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Chattahoochee, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.

Everything went Lanier's way against Chattahoochee in their previous meeting back in September, as Lanier made off with a 21-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
