Soccer Recap: Antioch Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Antioch took on Liberty on Tuesday. The Antioch Panthers came up short against the Liberty Lions, falling 8-1. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 711th, while the Lions are ranked 206th).

Antioch's goal came courtesy of Yasmine Garcia, who's now up to two this season.

Antioch's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Liberty, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2-2.

Antioch has already played their next match (against Deer Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Freedom is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
