Bennett dropped down to 9-8 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Montrose Red Hawks, falling 13-1. Having soared to a lofty 25 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Bennett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jagoda Gutowska, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Montrose, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

On Montrose's side, Bentley Schiller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Schiller has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aubrey Blacker was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaytli Cannizzo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

While Bennett had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
