Softball Recap: Washington-Wilkes Comes Up Short at Home Against Evans

Washington-Wilkes unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evans Knights on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 4-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Washington-Wilkes saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Welborn, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Washington-Wilkes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-1 defeat against Loganville Christian Academy on the 8th. As for Evans, they have also already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Screven County on the 8th.
