Basketball Recap: Woodside Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Woodside duked it out withBurlingame on Friday. The Woodside Wildcats fell 44-34 to the Burlingame Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 755th, while the Panthers are ranked 338th).

Woodside's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Burlingame, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Woodside has already played their next contest (against Terra Nova), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Burlingame will face off against Hillsdale at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Hillsdale has won five straight at home, while Burlingame won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
