Basketball Recap: Frazier's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Carmichaels the last time they met, Frazier decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Frazier Commodores enjoyed a cozy 47-31 victory over the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes on Thursday. The Commodores pushed the score to 45-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mighty Mikes cut but never quite recovered from.

Frazier's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allie Yauch led the charge by putting up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Bateman, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Carmichaels lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ali Jacobs, who had eight points. Another player making a difference was Kelani Chun, who put up six points.

The win was the third in a row for Frazier, bringing their record for this year to 3-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Carmichaels, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Frazier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-44 loss against Burgettstown on the 16th. As for Carmichaels, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-9 defeat against Fort Cherry on the 16th.
