Football Game Preview: Needville Bluejays vs. Stafford Spartans + How To Watch

The Needville Bluejays will square off against the Stafford Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stafford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Needville, who comes in off a win.

Needville's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 34-0 win over Fort Bend Willowridge. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Bluejays this season.

Kobie Campbell had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 166 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Needville is 3-1 when Campbell posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Cameron Hall was another key player, throwing for 104 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Needville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Needville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kase Vacek and Diego Hernandez.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Stafford finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a blow against Almeta Crawford, falling 54-6. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Needville will have to keep a close watch on Aiden Seales and Nate Ray, a pair of players who had a big impact on Stafford's prior game. Seales picked up 72 receiving yards and one score, while Ray threw for 79 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. Seales really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.

Needville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Stafford, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.
